Light dawns on marblehead....

Okay so the reason there were way too many ground cereal breadcrumbs is I measured them after I crumbed them....duh. So I wasted like half of my $4.00 box of cereal in one night. I hate when I don't think.
Anyway today has been going great so far. A sliced apple with 1 1/2 tablespoon of peanut butter has been my breakfast favorite lately. Not sure if I am missing something that they provide from my diet but it seems to be all that I want when I get up? Who knows.
I do have to hit the grocery today, I am out of fruit and that just will not do.
It is that time of the month where I want to eat everything in the house. (seriously I have eyeballed the cat a couple of times) So, being "good" isn't always easy which is why this new cookbook is so amazing for me. I can have two of this or one of these or a slice of this...it makes it much easier to stay on track when there are pumpkin spice cupcakes involved, and yes they get frosting. I can hardly wait to make them... I think I will do those tonight.
My biggest slip up as of late has been in exercise. And I could tell you that my back has been bothering me and I am so exhausted from work that I can't get motivated. (which is all true but I do also always feel better when I am on a regular excercise routine so I need to just do it.)
So, I guess I will go do my exercises now. Ciao!

  1. Did you say pumpkin spice cupcakes???? Do you remember that I have a key to your apartment? You might have to lock them up! You are my hero for beting so diligent and committing your weight loss to the world in cyber space. I am not yet that brave, but I am seriously on the quest. I have plateaued at about 16 lbs, and I'm afraid that only a real commitment to exercise will get me over the hump. That is where I am struggling. My blood sugar is staying good though, so one dragon at a time I guess...

    Love you! Beth

  2. Hey Mare! Somehow I was not even aware you had started a blog - a great idea!! I have read the parts that I was able to see without going back and back pages:) Very cool idea. I know what you mean about being accountable. Every year I get it into my head to start exercising more and eating healthier. I'll do the Wii fit thing for a week or two and then it falls by the wayside. I'm starting to try and walk when the weather's nice and I'm hoping to get a bike this year as well. My breakfast of choice lately is just granola raisin bran. Does the oolong tea have any weight loss benefits (aside from the caffeine rush?) I love that stuff. Wish we could walk together (sniff, sniff) the cookbook sounds awesome - I'll have to look into it :)
    love ya!

  3. Wow! A blog! I'm impressed! I know it may sound crazy, but running is awesome. It takes months and months and months to build up endurance; walk for 5 min, jog for 1 min, walk 5, jog 2, etc. I know it might be hard for your knee and back, but I recomended it, if you feel up to it, because its good for weight, endurance, confidence (run one, I mean one, race and you'll be hooked no matter what place you come in), and finally, its a great motivation to not smoke. It's the only thing that ever worked for me long-term, besides Lent, which alas, is only 40 days. When I first started a few years ago, it tooks me 2 full months of training to even do a mile, but last year I did a marathon.
Dieting is good, but some kind of physical accomplishment and building endurance will make you feel better no matter what, like the powerful Amazon woman you are. It actually doen't matter what you do, but any activity challenge will make you feel better about yourself, mentally. 34 is just the beginning...
    Love, Faith
