I made yogurt in my crockpot yesterday and while it has slightly more calories than the store bought variety it also has no aspartame, preservatives etc... Actually I used Skim Milk and it is still the richest yogurt I have ever had in my life. Slightly runnier than I like but it wasn't very cold when I ate it and I believe it may firm up as it chills.
So this morning I got to have homemade yogurt in my yummy granola/apple/yogurt breakfast. I am going to make more yogurt tomorrow. They recommend that you don't make more than you can eat in 10 days but considering that I went through 32 oz in two days I think I can handle it. (this could be a huge money saver, if you are someone who eats alot of yogurt you might want to try it.)
I got the recipe at another blogspot sight, anyone wanting to try it should check it just search "yogurt crockpot" at Google(TM).
I had a balogna sandwich for lunch. Has anyone ever noticed that the cheaper a food is the worse for you it is? The expensive balogna is only 80 calories per slice, the balogna I have right now (keep in mind it is thick sliced) 130 calories per slice. Still seems pretty outrageous to me that you kind of have to be able to afford to live healthier. I can control my caloric intake regardless of what foods I am eating but it sure is nicer to get 3 cups of broccoli than 1/2 a balogna sandwich. (Can't afford broccoli right now and definitely not fresh broccoli)

I hate that it costs more to eat healthy too. You're really doing a great job despite that fact. I wish I had the will power you do. You rock at keeping within your calories even with the higher calorie choices. I'm so proud of you! Hopefully your journey here will inspire me (and others) to join you!
