You can't beat yourself up

I have done it we all have, you slip up on your diet and you get so full of guilt and disappointment with yourself that you force yourself too far in the opposite direction setting yourself up to fail again. That is why I think my diet has been working so well this time, I have changed my eating habits not just restricted myself for a time. I now only eat fat free shredded cheese. I have yogurt everyday and one of my favorite snacks involves Fiber One (tm) cereal, or celery... If I slip up so what, I will get back on track, I am now and will try to stay there but hey I am human and sometimes humans need cheesecake. So as long as I only have a little slice I will be okay.
Portion control in this society isn't easy either. When you ask someone to slice you a "little" piece of cake and they give you 1/8 instead of 1/16 there is a reason. We have all been brainwashed by our SuperSized(tm) society into thinking that it is normal to eat as much as we do. If that is the case then why is everyone so much healthier in countries where they eat less and less processed foods than we do? I need to keep on track though, if someone gives me 1/8 when I wanted 1/16 then I should only eat half of it, not clean my plate.
This morning I had a yogurt and a slice of rye with peanut butter, and my new spiced chai tea...yeah. Now I have to wait for the pool to open so I can get in my swim.

  1. You're so right about portions. I went and bought myself a pretty little dessert plate to use here at home so I can't fill it as much.
Hey, I had yogurt for breakfast too. No toast though. Keep up the good work! Love you, sis.
